Game Summary: There's not much value in going through the details of a 58-13 loss at the hands of the Spartans. The Warriors only ran two plays in the first quarter. The first resulted in an interception and the second in a fumble. The night didn't get much better after that. WVW's wide receiver Eugene Lewis dominated the game with over 250 yards of offense. The Spartans had over 500 yards of offense on the night. Chris Murphy scored the Warriors first touchdown on a QB sneak near the end of the first half. Ahmad Bouie ran back a kickoff 99 yards near the end of the game. Lewis was nothing less than phenomenal as he made one acrobatic catch after another. He was clearly the best athlete that the Warriors faced all year.

The Good: If you put aside the number of big plays that involved Lewis, the Warrior defensive line looked pretty good against an offensive line that outweighed them by over an average of 60 lbs. There were several plays made by the defense that trapped WVW for a loss. In particular, Julian Campenni, Nick Perugini, and AJ Lemardy seemed to be in on a lot of tackles. It was good to see Matt Kintz rip off a 20 yard run in the second half. It was really the first time this season that he looked like the Matt Kintz of 2008. The entire team played hard and fearlessly through the end of the game. They were just overmatched by bigger and faster players.

Needs Work: There's one game left--and it is the big one against Pittston. The game plan should be simple. Key on the guy who rushed for over 340 yards last week. Stop him and you win the game--period. Last year, the Warriors did a nice job of hemming #26 in for most of the game. The Patriots prevailed in that game by resorting to a passing game to the tight end. They really don't have that passing game to fall back on this year.
